GO PLANET!! xD

Wooh I'm on a roll. Granted these pages aren't too hard to do, but still! Aha.

Alright, so the Five elements are based VERY VERY loosely on the five elements of Japanese Philosophy. Each element represents an aspect of the world, as well as an aspect of human character. However, I substituted the last element, which is Void, but can also be translated to Sky or Heaven, I changed it to Shadow. I think the Void, nothingness suits it better than the aspect of heaven, since people see that in a different light. Am I making any sense? Aha. But it's not completely based so I'm not twisting Japanese philosophy or anything. I just found it interesting that the five elements of Japanese philosophy were similar to the five elements I had planned for this story. I have been reading up alot about "The Book of Five Rings" which is a group of books, each book based on an element, which describe the aspects of battle. I found it all really interesting. As some of you may know, I'm a cultural fanatic, I love studying cultures of other countries. My main focus used to be just Japan like all the other anime lovers, but then it broadened as I discovered how great the world really is. Now I plan on traveling the world and seeing everything. Aha I'm ranting now aren't I?

BACK ON TOPIC!

So witness my crappy caveman art! Aha, I needed something for that second panel, so I put in a picture of a smith. But not just any Smith! It's a chalkboard drawn smith! Expect more of those in the future pages Aha. Let me know if the white of the lines makes it too hard to see the text. Black and white is such a good alternative to tone, too bad I'm no good at it or I'd love to do a comic in it. Like sosenka_va'scomic WOLFEN. It's all done in B&W and it's amazingly awesome looking *pouts*

Aha so it's 5 am but I don't feel like sleeping, but I set this page to come out later in the afternoon... I started to set up extra pages (since I was a complete noob and didn't know how to do it recently) and am in the process of putting up banners of all the comics I love. Then eventually I will get a characters page, about me page, maybe affiliates, but it might be somewhat the same as my recommended comics page, so I don't see much point, and other pages! Look forward to that! I'm gonna go hit the hay.

I'm probably going to reread this tomorrow and think, what the hell was going through my mind when I wrote this Ahhaha.

Ciao~

No problems with the chalkboard lines here. I remember learning about the elements of Japanese philosophy in one of my classes. I had a different book than you had. I should have saved it...Oooh, layout changes. I look forward to them.

You're making sense. : ] Shadow is an awfully literate substitute, though... I suppose it works enough, 'cause then it can also mean a person's soul working with them like a shadow~ Oooo deep. Haha.

I don't think you need to provide an explanation for your elements. Elements are a common inclusion in a lot of stories, an inclusion that I actually enjoy. Just because it's done lots doesn't mean you need to justify it. : ]

On a personal note, I prefer tone to black and white. I find it more difficult to tone than use black and white, actually @ @~.

Yey for more pages. There's nothing wrong with affiliates. : [ I'll affiliate with you if you like.

@Jazeki: Aha, thanks you then!

@Vervain: I dunno, black and white is really hard to make it look right. I've seen some awesome things done with it. This comic will be going back to regular toning and shtuff after the flashback but I still just like B&W Aha

I am not explaining for the sake of clearing it up, just for enjoyment aha.

Sure, I would love to affiliate with you! It might take me a little bit to get the pages up though, cause I got projects to work on and such, but I'll let you know when I do! :D

@Some_unknown_dude: Aha, thanks. YESH! I plan on keeping this as realisticly based on samurai as I can (except for the whole 'controlling the elements' thing xD), since i love studying them so much. If I mess anything up, feel free to point me out on it. I hope to exceed your expectations as well. Thanks for the motivation! ^^

Putting black borders to white text always work when the text is slightly hard to read. Don't want to stress your viewer's mind even a little do you? =w= I tend to give my white text borders even when the background is pretty dark.

@Oblivion12: Aha would I want to be hurting my readers eyes?

@P!K: Ahaha no, unfortunately. I just found them on google images and traced over them. I am no good at all with drawing japanese characters unless it's on the Japanese learning game for the DS o3o
